Who Is The BIggest Star We Have?.

Bruce Springsteen?

Barbra Streisand?

If not, who should be?

This is, of course, very subjective.

I'd like to offer up my own candidate.

It's certainly someone nobody has ever to my mind been considered for the title.

There are people who I consider to be my hip friends who have never even heard of her. 

She is the great, great jazz singer and pianist, Diana Krall.

I know, it's just one very narrow area of show business, but I think she is far and away the very best

there has ever been.

Oh, and she is gorgeous too.

She seems to be a direct descendant of Peggy Lee and Julie London, but is far more versatile, oh, and did I say gorgeous?  I think I did.

I'll say it again. This woman is gorgeous.

She is married to Elvis Costello, and they have kids.  

Good luck to them both.

The jazz conversation usually begins and ends with Ella Fitzgerald.

This is something I never understood.

I'd think you'd have to be at least attractive.  And not so not syrupy when she sings ballads.
But that's me.
