Whether temporarily or permanently, depending on Alex's condition.
I think the choice has been staring us in the face for over fifty years.
Just about every time you think about "Jeopardy", you think about him.
He's been with the show since the beginning of the Art Fleming days.
Yes, I'm speaking of the one and only Johnny Gilbert.
Johnny has been an experienced game-show host.
I remember attending an episode of the game show "Music Bingo" in the early 1960's, and Johnny conducted himself with aplomb.
And he speaks in pure "Jeopardeeze", just like Art Fleming and Alex Trebek did before him.
Johnny has cleaned up what used to be a bit of a speech impediment.
He would pronounce the word "dollars as "dolluz". And "cash" as "caish".
As in "He has a three day winning total of six thousand four hundred and thirty-five dolluz in caish".
He doesn't do that any more.
Do it at least as a stopgap measure.
He's part of the history of the show, and should be treated as such at the appropriate time.
I'm just sayin….

My books, "Show Runner" and "Show Runner 2" can be found at the Amazon Kindle Store,
along with newer ones, "The Man Is Dead", and "Report Cards".
They are all compilations of blog entries have since been removed from the blog.
So this is the only way you can find them.,
You can search by typing in my name, Cindy Williams, Laverne and Shirley, The Odd Couple, or Happy Days.
Check them out.
You don't need a Kindle machine to download them.
Just get the free app from Kindle, and they can be downloaded to an IPhone, IPad, or Blackberry.
The paperbacks, "Mark Rothman's Essays" and my new novel, "I'm Not Garbo" are not e-books.
But they are available for people without Kindle.
I have many readings and signings lined up for those, and the thing about Kindle is you can't sign one.
If you'd like one of the paperbacks, personally autographed, contact me at macchus999@aol.com.
