Report Card---"Leave No Trace"

"Leave No Trace" is a fascinating movie, considering that for most of it, absolutely nothing happens.
A father lives with his daughter in the woods.  She is a young teenager.
For the most part we don't know why they have this lifestyle..
We spend most of the film trying to find out.
Is there something sexually perverse about their relationship?
Doesn't seem to be.
So what gives?

Is it interesting?

Extremely.
A+.

Compelling even?

Often.
A+.

Is it good storytelling?

It takes a long time to get where it's going.

Is it well written?

Very .

Is it well cast? Well played?

Yes, and yes extremely..

Well shot?

Extremely.

Did the director put such a personal stamp on it so that no one else could have made it?

No.

How long does it take to establish the film's locale and time period?

I don't know exactly when, but long ago.

Is it too long? Too short?

It seems a little long, because it keeps you guessing.

Is it believable? Do you care about the characters?.

Yes, and totally.

Is it predictable?

No.

Do you think about it after you've seen it?

Yes. Quite a bit.

Is it funny?

It could use a few laughs.

Would it have been worth the thirteen bucks it would have cost to see it in the movies?
