Rothman's Picks For The Oscars---Part One.

Over the next few weeks, I'm gong to offer up my choices for the Oscars, based on the nominees, and the films that I have seen, which is most of them.
They will be based purely on who I think deserves them, and not at all on who I think will get them.
I am no better a prognosticator than anyone else.
It's purely based on personal taste.
I will only deal with the categories that interest me, and that I think I can have an intelligent opinion about.
So, I will limit myself to Best Male Actor, Best Female Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Screenplay, and
Best Picture.
All the other categories are a little too collaborative for me--such as best editing, best sound, etc.
I'll begin next time with Best Adapted Screenplay.
